This past off-season, my husband and I had another little traveler to think about, and we chose to rent an RV! Click "Read More" in the bottom right-hand corner to catch a glimpse at our family trip.
My husband Derek and I wanted to try out traveling in an RV for the first time during our trip from California to Wisconsin and back. Neither of us had ever traveled in an RV before, and we certainly had never driven one before! However, we both looked forward to this new adventure.
We loved the idea of an RV for multiple reasons:
At the time, our son was only (almost) 4 months old, and there had been a measles outbreak across the country. Our pediatrician advised against flying with our little guy in order to assure he wouldn't get sick. That's when Derek and I came up with the idea of renting an RV. *FUN FACT: We had requested a small RV, but the company we rented from told us they only had medium sizes. We put a deposit down for one of the medium sizes, and when we arrived to pick it up the manager told us they "upgraded" us to a larger RV. Of all times to receive "an upgrade" this was NOT the time we wanted one. That thing was HUGE. We definitely could have been comfortable in a much smaller size.

Salt Wash View Area, Utah was our first stop for sight-seeing on our way to Wisconsin. We loved seeing all of the red rock.
We stopped at a lookout area in Edwards, Colorado just before we got to one of our favorite places in Colorado - Frisco, CO. It was SO BEAUTIFUL!! We ended up capturing one of our favorite family photos there. The only thing that would have made this picture better would have been if our "fur baby" made it into the photo (you can see his leash, but he didn't make the cut unfortunately).
